Therban® XT
The Therban Carboxylated Technology (XT) grade is a hydrogenated carboxylated acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber (HXNBR). Compounds based on Therban XT exhibit significantly higher tear strength at high temperatures when compared to regular HNBR and other elastomers. They also show higher tensile strength and higher elongation at break than either regular HNBR or XNBR based compounds.
Therban XT has excellent adhesion to metals, plastics, natural and synthetic fibers.
By blending Therban XT with regular Therban, the effects of aging and premature scorch can be minimized.
Therban XT can also be blended with other elastomers to produce vulcanizates that show excellent properties.
These properties make Therban XT particularly suited for applications that demand extreme performance, for example, oil well specialties, high performance belts, rubber components for tough engineering applications, rubber rolls and shaft seals.
