The Therban® Carboxylated Technology (XT) grade is a hydrogenated carboxylated acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber (HXNBR). Compounds based on Therban XT exhibit significantly higher tear strength at high temperatures when compared to regular HNBR and other elastomers. They also show higher tensile strength and higher elongation at break than either regular HNBR or XNBR based compounds.
Therban® XT has excellent adhesion to metals, plastics, natural and synthetic fibers. By blending Therban® XT with regular Therban®, the effects of aging and premature scorch can be minimized.
These properties make Therban® XT particularly suited for applications that demand extreme performances, for example, oil well specialities, high performance belts, rubber components for tough engineering applications, rubber rolls and shaft seals.
